Before you start

Freeze-dried strawberry powder colours the filling without making the dough soggy. Use a vegan gel colour for the purple-blue icing.

Our own version inspired by the reel of @suzuvibes: the creator's exact quantities are not published on the web, so these amounts are ours.

Coraline Cinnamon Rolls

9 rolls · 20 cm (8 in) square tin · 1½ hours rising

Ingredients

Step by step

  1. Mix milk, yeast and sugar, then the melted butter, flour and salt. Knead 8 minutes until smooth and let rise 1 hour, covered.
  2. Roll into a 30 × 40 cm rectangle. Spread with the butter, sprinkle sugar, cinnamon and strawberry powder, then dot with jam.
  3. Roll up from the long side, cut 9 rolls and place in a lined tin. Rise 30 minutes, then bake at 180°C (350°F) for 22–25 minutes.
  4. Whisk the icing, swirl in the purple and blue colours without fully mixing and spoon over the warm rolls.
